Payment
Payment is made through PayPal at time of order, either through your PayPal account or by credit card. If you choose to pay with a PayPal cheque funds may not clear for up to 2 weeks. Your purchase will not be sent until funds clear. Payment must be made within 3 days of order. Please get in touch if there is any delay or if you encounter a problem with PayPal.
Shipping
Items in stock will be shipped within 5 business days of receipt of your payment. For made to order items, please allow up to 10 business days after receipt of payment before the items are shipped, and please bear in mind that specially designed custom items may take a bit longer. If there is any delay because of stock being unavailable from the suppliers or for any other reason, I will let you know as soon as possible after you have placed your order. Your order will be shipped to your Paypal address provided, please get in touch if you would like it delivered to a different address.
UK Shipping: Standard shipping is via First Class Post and may take up to 3 business days, but can take longer. For orders over £30 in value your parcel will be upgraded to Recorded Delivery.
Rest of World Shipping: Standard shipping is by Airmail. For orders over £30 your parcel will be upgraded to International Signed for Service. This is trackable up until the point of departure from the UK. Some countries are able to continue to track the parcel but not all countries offer this service - please ask for details. If you would prefer a fully trackable service or courier, please contact me for details and I will be happy to provide a quote.
Customers are responsible for payment of any import taxes, duties or levies resulting from their order.
Refunds and Exchanges
It is very important to me that you are happy with your purchase, therefore I offer a no-quibble return policy on standard items (this does not apply to earrings and any personalised or specially designed items which are non-returnable unless faulty). Please notify me within a week of receipt of your purchase if you wish to return an item. Items must be returned in their original packaging and the buyer is responsible for return postage.
Free of charge repairs are offered on any faulty items providing this is notified to me within 12 months of purchase and all parts are returned safely packaged. Your postage costs will also be refunded where a faulty or substandard item has been sent in error.
Repairs at a later date, or general tweaks and adjustments can be made at a small cost. These will incur shipping charges. Please be aware that it may sometimes be the case that the same materials are no longer available - we will discuss options on a case by case basis.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Hallmarking
A UK hallmark is struck by an independent assay office and guarantees the precious metal content of the item you are buying. It is a legal requirement under UK Law to hallmark articles containing precious metals, where the article weighs over 7.78g for silver items or over 1.0g for gold items. Articles below those weights are exempt from the hallmarking requirement.
Jasmin Studio Jewellery complies fully with the legislation regarding Hallmarking. A copy of the Assay Office's Dealer's Notice can be found here. It also contains useful information on the meanings of different hallmarks.
Care for your Jewellery
All jewellery should be worn with care. It is advisable to protect precious jewellery from prolonged contact with water, e.g. while swimming, showering etc. Please take care not to allow your jewellery to come into contact with cleaning materials, perfumes or toiletries. Most metals can oxidise and the colour may become dull with time - simply use a metal polishing cloth with a drop of proprietary polish, or consider investing in an ultrasonic cleaner. You can prevent some oxidisation by keeping the item in a sealed bag. Never use metal polishes or cleaners on gemstones and materials other than metals. Some metals, gemstones and shell or wood materials are delicate and may scratch or break so please take special care when wearing them to avoid knocks and abrasions. Fabric and paper-based jewellery must never be allowed to get in contact with liquids.
Ring Sizing
If you have trouble finding your right size please get in touch and I will be happy to help. You may also buy a ring sizer in the shop to get a perfect fit. It is important that your ring size is accurate as it may not be possible to change the size of certain rings after completion. All rings are made to measure so please allow extra time for this.
Special Orders
Special orders are very welcome. I enjoy working with my customers to create something unique. Please contact me directly to discuss your custom design. A 50% deposit is payable on all custom orders.
Personalised Items
Personalised items often involve an extra step in the process - that is for you to obtain the original artwork (be it a baby's fingerprint, a toddler's first sketch or a photograph memory), to get it to us and a variety of other steps in between that will ultimately enable the design to be transferred onto your fine silver piece. As such there is a slightly longer lead time on these items. For fingerprint jewellery you can either email me a clear print with visible lines, or I can send you a moulding compound so that you can take a print yourself. I will include full instructions. This compound is made of silicone and whilst it is not toxic for external use, it really is not to be eaten, so please ensure it is kept away from babies' reach. For hand- and footprints, I can work from existing prints or scans and can also offer inkless wipes that will not stain skin. These wipes are widely used in US hospitals for newborn identification forms so are considered to be perfectly safe for baby.
I regret that personalised items are not refundable or exchangeable.
